Default v-6 exhaust??

SOOOOO.......I had to have the whole exhaust replaced last fall, and due to the budget at the time, I didn't get to go fancy with it. Got my tax return, and decided it's time to spice 'er up a bit.

What's anybody with a 3.9 running for mufflers/exhaust??? All of my piping from the cat. conv. back is stock sized, and brand new, so I was thinking of just getting a Flowmaster 40 or something along that line(I had one on my 4.7 dak and LOVED it). Just don't want it to sound ricey....I know not to expect it to sound like a v-8.

Any suggestions? I don't wanna break the bank, but the Dak is too quiet!! lol.

I did search on here, and didn't find much that helped me...

Thanks!
-Mike

I had a Flow 40 on mine, it was alright. I also hollowed my converter out. It might sound better with a Cherry Bomb on it though.

Whatever muffler you go with, put a little piping behind it and drop it behind the axle, you'll get a little more noise out of it.

i have the flowmaster super 40 series. it sounds great!!! of course it don't sound like a v8, like you said. but it still sounds good. i also wanna cut out the cat and leave the muffler, but im not decided yet. then dump it in front of the axle on the passenger side. ive heard some other trucks that did that and it sounded good to.
