I've decided to do something about my exhaust. i already put the flowmaster super 40 series on it, but that's it. it's not loud enough for me.... any ideas? i was thinking about cutting out the cat but leaving the muffler and running the pipe out in front of the axle.

 

cutting the cat will make it a lot louder... at least it did for me. Also, if you're not as much into the looks of the exhaust tip, aim it at the ground and it should be louder still. Or drop a high compression v8 in there :P

 

ya i wish i had the money and the time for that. maybe one day soon i will.

 

pop the cat out of it and leave the flowmasters in it. it willl sould loud. my 87 has a glass pack and it exits out the rears its still pretty loud but you may also want to exit out in front of the tire instead of the rear of the tire. it will make it alot louder. i went from infront of the tire to behind the tire. i needed mine to be alil more quiet for late night field running.

 

alright. will be done. but in the mean time i have to replace my trans since i blew it up lol. probably because of my own field runs and spinning tires. oh well though. **** happens.

 

I run a cherry bomb vortex dual outlet. It was mad loud and booming with no tailpipes. Ran pipes out the back to quiet it down, short pipes out the sides would probably have sounded about right.

 

have fun running the pipes out the sides with the gas tank in the way, wont work, on my 93 5.2 i ran a full 3" with a single chamber race muffler and its extremely loud, as loud as the glasspack i had previously, but the best sounding exhaust i had was a magnaflow straight thru oval case muffler, perfect tone and a lower volume(i wanna gor back to this muffler, but a 3" now) the only thing bout the magnaflow is the price but yuo definately get what you pay for

 

ya know the gas tank is right there but unfortunately im not gonna run out both sides. im gonna run it out the passenger side where the gas tank is not at lol. but i havent decided whether or not i really wanna put duals or not but if i did they will be straight out the back

 

+1 on that. im putting dual on my 3.9, and im thinkin flowmaster 40 or magnaflow straight out the back. im still debating on a magnaflow high flow cat, or just cut the cat out...

 

if you want it to be super loud why are you running a muffler? i posted a video a few posts back of mine with no cat and a single in dual out flowmaster. it sounded ok when i had the v6, but compared to the 318, it is whimpy. just DO NOT put a glass pack on it with no cat, it is bad, as i have said before, it sounds like a moose with a ***** shoved up its ***, not good.....
