hi i see this is years later but hacing the same proble so bascially the sensor when its broke or missing is telling the motor its too cold so is dumping too uch fuel but rines fine on a cold motor but when it warms up its still dumping that fuel in on a warm engine is flooding the motor with excess fuel
I recently had my Intake Air Temp sensor connector unknowingly disconnect. My truck ran perfectly fine without it for the week or two it was off before reconnecting it. I know that sensor works in much the same way as the coolant sensor so I was a bit mystified how it didn't screw with the fuel mix like the coolant sensor. Hey You mentioned the IAT doesn't impact fuel mix anywhere near what the coolant sensor does. When the coolant sensor goes, you know it. FYI.
