Default Fill plug on trans stuck

Well, I tried to remove the fill plug and it is seized up. Can't get it out without destroying it at this point. It was even sprayed down for a few days before trying with PB Blaster. Anyways, it is an AX15 trans and there is a hydraulic line right nearby so it isn't like I can take a lot of liberty cranking on this thing. At this point, I am goign to need a new plug, and I am leaning towards going to the dealer to get a new plug and then maybe stopping by a trans shop and just having them pull it out. Anyone here have any better ideas? Thanks.

What kind of tool does the plug use... like mine is a 17mm Allen wrench?

It is a 15/16" hex head.

Do you have enough room at any angle to get a long breaker bar in there? Hex Heads are typically (from my experience) the easiest stuck bolts to break free.

... then don't be surprised when one of these days it rounds off the bolt head, cause our trucks are american, not metric.

*EDIT* On second though... the AX-15 is not made by Dodge either, so I guess it could be metric.

Correction... 17 mm ALLEN wrench (not hex head bolt). And New Venture Gear is not made by Dodge. All the Dodge transmissions use amercian bolts. I didn't realize when I said that, that the AX-15 was the same situation. Nice try, but you'll have to try harder to get back at me for the 3923 comment

So anyway... back on topic. It looks like you shouldn't have as hard a time getting that drain plug out once the transmisison is out of the truck if you do that swap! When there's nothing in the way, you should be able to use whatever is neccessary.
