Default 1995 Dodge Dakato V6

I'm new to forum and need some help. I just purchased a 1995 Dakato V6 with 39K miles overall great shape. It has not been serviced for a long if any at all. I have got everything changed fluids. It idles real ruff at idle but runs real good all the way up from idle. When i turn on the A/C the rpm does not increase so I just purchased a idle speed controla and will put it on today. Any ideas what will cause this idle problem? What rpm should it idle at?
Thanks

You can try doing a tune up. Spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. You could post in the 1st gen dakota section and got more results.

I've taken the liberty to move it.

As Crazy said, try a tune up changing the things he said. That should really help out.
Pay attention to the condition of the plugs when you pull them out. Note if one, or a few, plugs look worse than others.
