Default Divorced transfer case

Anyone in here ever try to run a divorced transfercase? I have the 2WD NV3500 I was planning on converting over to 4WD and using my mounted NP231 with, but now I am thinking about running a divorced NP205 on it. Any thoughts?

i would do it. the divorced 205 is a tough case. my samurai came factory with a divorced case and i think it is a great idea. you would just have to get 3 drive shafts custom made, that would really be the big pita. mounting should bepretty easy though i would imagine

Yeah, you are right on that. It sounds pretty much bulletproof. I can tig weld and if I am lucky I can land one with the stock cross member intact and use that to build off of, or fabricate my own. Lots of mounts have been posted online to see.

And yes, the 3 driveshafts are the deal stopper. I am not familiar enough with how different yokes fit together, but I am sure I will need 3 new ones, or somehow get existing ones shortened at a machine shop.

Hey, any chances you have the samurai still? If so, would I be able to get some pictures of the setup for the case? Thanks.
