Question 1990 2.5 I-4 engine trouble

Ive got a 1990 dakota with the 2.5 liter I-4 and a manual 5 speed, for about the past month ive been noticing an annoying squeaking coming from the engine, about a week after it started i took both the belts off (the v-groove belt which runs to the alternator and water pump, and the slotted belt which runs my power steering) i immediatly suspected that it was the v belt because of an odd wear pattern on a fairly new belt, well, i got the pullys cleaned to the point they were shining and put the new belts on, tensioned them appropiatly and cranked it up, and now i notice that the center pulley, ive heard it called a harmonic balancer and a vibration damper, has a slight wobble to it, so its time to replace that i assume, or is this an adjustable thing? its got 5 outer bolts in a ring around a single bolt, what should i do to replace this? i.e. how do i remove it safely, are there any other things that could ultimatly be causing the wobble (and please dont say camshaft, i refuse to believe that needs any work). Also, where can i find a new harmonic balancer? every single part store sells for the two larger engines, but neglects us little guys. Is this something i can grab out of a junk yard? if so, which dodge/chrysler vehicles used the same engine and will the part be identical?

Thanks for all your help guys.

Joe

I'm not to familiar with the 4cly but I'm sure the harmonic balancer is not adjustable. The harmonic balancer may be coming loose and just needs replacement. I don't know how it is on the 4cly but the V6's and V8's are pressed on. You can rent a tool from autozone to remove it and replace it. Check the FAQ for online manuals you can search and find the correct answers.

Ok, it looks like whats wobbeling is the Drive pulley, not the entire unit. i may have mislabeled the part, the pully located directly behind the bad pulley which runs to the power steering does not wobble, however the pully attached to that has a wobble which is causeing the belt running through the water pump and alternator to rub against the front of it and consequently out of the tracks, does anyone have any idea where to get a new drive pulley? i found an original part number (4483 412) on it, but it seems pretty useless.

You can go to your local delership or try these sites and just type in the part number.
