Default Building a 390 stroker

So u know i mentioned wanting to build a stroker. I was just thinking about it and do you think a stoker would be neccessary in a 4x4 application? Im thinking if making my 4x4 not street legal(as far as lift and everything) i dont know yet. But if i were to build a stoker would it be better in a street application? And than my other question a stoker out of an LA block 318 or magnum 318 what do you think? Would the mag stroker have more power? Or i was thinking just put the 318, NP435, and NP208 i got in my 4x4 and clean up the engine and build the stoker for my 89 which im getting all new cab and front clip for.

if i was going to make an offroad machine that was not street legal then i would have a fire breathing big block to go with it. you could get more bang for your buck probably. the stroker would have plentyof power too though, just more too it. the downside to magnums is the fuel injection, which is better but you would have to deal with all the expensive upgrades to get it running real strong. i guess it is just a matter of what you can get your hands on and how thick the wallet is.

Put it in the 4x4 where you can put that 4'' stroke to work and have some real fun. As for the magnum you can always through a manifold and carb on it if you want. Or for less money you can put a stand alone injection on it and tune it to any injector you want to use .
