Fuel pressure in 97 318 Dakota?
Title says it all almost. I am looking for the fuel pressure in a stock system on a 97 Dakota with a 318 in it. I have looked up my trucks info and I am running 35-45 PSI on both the V6 and V8 in 1995. My V6 has a return fuel line I believe. The V8 I got does not. I heard that it may require a 100 PSI fuel pump in the 1997 Dakota, but I need to verify.
I have also been experiencing these same problems on my 95 Dodge Dakota 5.2 ltr 318. The fuel pump is working; however... not been able to determine if this is actual issue with the fuel pump itself, or an electronic/pcm issue, wiring, etc... Not sure if I should just spend the ridiculous $155 to replace the fuel pump or not!? Have already had the fuel pump out, fixed a couple vacuum lines, tested pump for actual working, and truck is still cranking most of the time, runs smooth sitting..., go down the street, put some gas to it, and jumps, missing...sometimes backfiring.., and sometimes, it doesn't even want to crank. Wasn't sure if a fuel pump could give you "inconsistent" operation for a few weeks?, or if it would just one day "not work"? Also, not sure, IF I go get this pressure gage, ck the pressure, it maybe NOT be correct psi.., and IF that would be the pump itself?, or again... some electronic issue? Thanks
