Default Headlights out

Last night went to leave and my headlights didn't work. Everything else works, parking lights, interiors, etc. Got it home by holding high beam switch on, high beams could not be turned on and stay on, had to hold high beam switch towards steering wheel to keep lights on. Any ideas? 95 dakota.

Did you check all the fuses! Check the wires. Check the switch. For a diagram of fueses and wireing diagrams and service manuals check the FAQ in this section.

Either the headlight switch is bad OR the multi-function switch is bad (the stalk you had to hold)

Thanks for the input. Was the headlight switch. Had it replaced and fyi tried lens cleaner from the auto parts store to try to de-yellow my lenses and it seems to work decent but was told I'd probably need to do this as a semi yearly maint. procedure.

i have a 94, and my headlights randomly turn off while driving. if i turn them off then back on they're fine. it is at random, not when i hit bumps.

i'm going to check the faq for diagrams and stuff right now.
