Fuel Pump Problems
Hey everyone just wanted to see if someone could give some insight into my problem. I accidentally ran out of gas and when I refilled it my truck wouldnt start. I have spark but no fuel pressure at the fuel rail and the fuel pump will not run. The fuel pump relay is fine, I have not been able to locate another fuse for the fuel pump anywhere using the diagrams in the manual. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to reset the fuel pump or if there is another fuse somewhere that could be the problem. I have a 94' and so im not sure if the pump is in the tank or external.
Thanks

Yes there is only one fuse. Most likely you burnt out your pump. The gas in the tank keeps the pump cool enough from over heating. Without anything to keep it cool it will overheat and die. I have done it once before. You will need to replace the entire fuel tank sending unit.
no problems like that at all until it ran out. looks like I will probably have to replace the tank/sending unit. anyone know what that costs? anyway thanks guys
I hope you didn't fill, fill your tank. I've had to replace two in the tank fuel pumps in my life and both were right after I filled the tank for the week of commuting to work. Murphy's Law in full swing baby..

What i was talking about was if the pump went bad itself because thats the type of crap we delt with for a while with a 93 grand voyager minivan (now sold) until it wouldnt start in the parking lot of Sullivans
and i think it did cost somewhere around 200 and somethin, we were not thrilled

I wouldnt go through a parts store on this one. You dont HAVE to replace the whole assembly, although thats all the parts chains carry.
My dodge dealer priced me just over 80 bucks for a sending unit, so I know you can buy them separately from the dealer. Check there first. One of the few times a dealer had something cheaper for me.
