Default rpm ?'s

today i noticed that the motor was reving up really high then back down again then it would go back up but it only did this when i went up a hill i think its the tranny but i dont know what do you guys think? thanks for all the help

Is it just raving up or is it shifting and the rpms is going up? To me it sounds like it is down shifting. You should have a TV cable that goes from the throttle body to the tranny. this is adjustable. We have the service manuals in the FAQ in this section. Check that for more specific info.

its shifting back and forth between 2 gears

Isnt it supposed to if its a tall hill and the engine dosnt have all the tourque (At least where its running(in RPMs)) to keep up speed or get goin faster, though normaly youd think it would stay in the lower gear unless it got to its set limit in RPMs and switched to the next gear up

Yeah that sounds normal to me if it's downshifting. If the torque converter is slipping though, thats a problem.

thats what i thought it was, any way i can check without tearing it apart?
