Default lift ideas ???

ok so i spent a good 2 weeks up at my cabin in the sticks. theres is this over land logging road that goes on forever that i took my dakota on. super fun except one thing my truck wont clear small fallen timber. so my questions; first if i buy these two things,
http://summitracing.com/parts/DYS-KC09100BK/ ,coilover spacer

http://jbrlsr.com/?aid=5336108634&bi...09%252Fc-10101 ,2 inch leaf

will i also need new shocks?

im also thinking of putting v8 springs in and homemade shackles, what else do i need to know to before i have a mess instead of a lift?

Sounds like it can work. But the coil spacers are going to be a pain to get in due to how much your adding. Get a good coil spring compressor so you can get it in. Take your time. Plan ahead with extra time incase of a striped bolt or something. You may need to get new ubolts for the rear end. It depends on the condition of yours and how much extra space there is. If you haven't seen already there is some more Ideas on lifts in the FAQ2 section.

get the largest possible tires that will fit, that will help a lot in going over stuff. logs, rocks, sidewalks ect are not an issue with big enough tires

+1 on larger tires. You can lift the body and never actually gain any ground clearance. I have 31" Michellins (I know I know, they are small compared to the big effin military tires) and I like them a lot.

If you are going over small timbers and stuff that can potentially come up and puncture/break things on the underside of your truck, I would also look into a little armor underneath to protect some of the more important things. Like a skid plate similar to what Crazy has.
