Whats on your list
So....now that the dodge is one step closer to its offroad dominance, Ive started pondering whats next on the list. It goes something like this.
Front keys
33's
Lighting(offroad)
snorkel(this is actually a large project, explained below)
Grill guard
Locker for the rear
Optima battery
get rid of ugly tape/moldings on the sides(Im a function before form kinda guy)
Luckily for me I had already designed a snorkel for my bronco, but never got around to it. So that step is actually already complete. I will be making my snorkel from abs, and using a K&N filter inside. I havent fully decided on what particular filter to use, or what kind of box Im going to make to enclose it. That will mostly depend on space involved when I get to it. To me this also includes running the vent hoses from the axles and elsewhere up much higher in the truck. I plan to run them up just below the lip of the bed between the cab and instal light one way valves on them. I will also do what I can to shield the distributor from direct water contact. We have a sandy river here I play in when I get dumb time to time. I also enjoy a good romp in the mud. So keeping water out of my running gear is top priority.
I was also wondering if any of you have done any mods to the steering. My truck turns like a school bus. My suburban can turn almost twice as sharp as the dakota. I didnt know if a gearbox with a wider swing would help or hurt. Thoughts?

Nice you got a good list. For now my list is build a few skid plates underneath the truck. I only got one in front. Buy a nice 10,000lbs winch to put on my truck's receivers, So I can put it up front or in the rear.
In the future like years from now. A SAS. Larger rear end. Lockers front and rear, on the new axles. 35in tires is a good size for me.

Those reciever mounted winch's are wonderful. Tons of versatility. I would tell you to make a "blank" to fill your front hitch with while wheeling though. I used a custom made one that had a shackle on it(mostly used as a handle). Nothing sucks worse than having a sweet winch to use and not being able to get it in your hitch because its full of crap and under mud.
10,000 pounds is a lot of force. I ran an 8000 on my fullsize bronco and although I had a ****** block and carried it I never used it. I had to bury my bronco pretty deep to get a heavy vehicle unstuck. Its amazing how much more effective pulling a stuck vehicle with a winch is than straight pulling. Doesnt roach a perfectly good transmission either.
That was on my list, but left off in typing.

95 kota. Check out my post on shackle hanger swaps between 2 and 4 wheel drives. I would recommend that 100% over a body lift. I have nothing against body lifts, Im actually going to put one on my truck. There are a lot of benefits that Im reaping from doing the swap, and it certainly wasnt any harder than installing a body lift.
