Default 93 3.9l mods

Hey all, new guy here...
I'm going to have to get my heads rebuilt soon, seems the valve seals need replacing. Since I'm gonna have it tore down that far, I figure a better cam is in order. I don't know if modding a V-6 is nutty on my part but I thought I'd go ahead and see what I could do. I'm looking for any suggestions. What I'd like to achieve is quick take-off and passing. Everything is stock except for the exhaust, not real clear what kind it is just that its real throaty. I'm not a longtime gear head so if my terminology is off please forgive. Also if anyone knows some good websites for aftermarket Dakota parts, please post.
Thanks for any input.

hughesengines.com and summitracing.com would be your best bets for possible mods. also look into the FAQ2 section of this forum. there is an endless list of stuff that will help.

you can get a Gibson Cat. back exhaust off of 4WheelParts, sounds awesome.
