Default rusty shocks

im pulling my front shocks and im not finding it so easy to get the bolt off the top end because of rust (damn you winter) are there any other northern folk out there with some tricks to bust them out?

You can use a vicegrip to clamp down on the saft so it wont turn. Get a deep socket to take off the nut.

thats what i tried first then i hit them with the torch and tried to tighten the nut until it snaped off and i got nothin. the nut is rusted to the shaft completly.

Use penetrating oil. Tap the top of the nut with a mallet and let it sit overnight (or at least for like 10 minutes or so)

Also, (since I try to not make assumptions), you should heat the nut until it is a dim red. (In case you don't know)

If none of that works, looks like you will have to be "creative" with something that cuts.
