Default Things that make ya go ****

So my overdrive hasnt been working lately. No big deal, my TV needs adjusted anyway cus it shifts into third late. Figured I would fumble around with them both at the same time.

Took a quick peek under the truck while I was visiting my wife. What do I see? I bunch of wires wrapped around my transfer case front yoke. Yup....aparently the shaft caught the wires that plug into the speedo unit on the tcase and cut/tore them all out. I took the plug off my 2wd, but its not near long enough, and I dont think its even close to the same.

Can someone take a picture or describe the wiring that goes into that plug and where it comes from? I have a female connector hanging off the side of the transmission(drivers side) that now has nothing plugged into it and thats all I have. Thanks

It all comes from the wiring harness that is connected to the O2 sensor and transmission. It is very hard to take a good picture. The best I can suggest is take a look at the wire section of the service manual we have listed in the FAQ. It has the entire layout of the wiring harness.

Yeah........thats about a clear as mud. Maybe Im just not reading/looking at it right, but it seems like a whole lot of gibberish.

Ok....simpler question. Is it just one set of wires that runs from here, on the side of the transmission by the linkage, to here on top of the transfer case which then piggy backs to the speedo unit? Or is there more wires Im missing because I have no idea where they were to start with?

Everything is off of that harness. Check the 95 service manual section 8w page 240

Cool thanks man. I tried reading the schematic, and I was looking at the page you stated. For some reason my brain shorts out looking at wiring diagrams.

The page I said is not a wiring diagram. Just a simple picture of a transmission and transfercase with the wiring harness on top.
