You could easily make an 8000-9000 pounder hide where the spare tire hangs. they arent actually all that big.

 

Ya it could. You may need to lower the hitch some. And the spare tire may be in the way. But I would say is to buy a winch hitch receiver or build one. That is my plan. I built a custom front hitch so I can put swap the winch to the front or rear. Here is a pic of a simple one.

 

If you get that winch crazy I would recommend moving the solenoid down off the top of the winch onto the handle bars or the mounting bucket. That has very good potential for very bad things.

i was actually thing if i were to put an 8000 lb winch hidden in the back the seloniods would be takeing them off the top and mounting them some were else.

 

Now I'm thinking of getting that PullzAll for elk hunting. That could be extremely useful. We currently use a chainsaw winch, but the PullzAll would be a nice upgrade. I want to eventually get a winch bumper and winch for my 2nd Gen Dakota.

I dont know about you guys but I've actually had my truck on A scale and it read just shy of 5,000 pounds haha

 

I haven't weighed my truck now with the 4wd or the SAS but 2wd was at 4,000lbs. So 5,000 sounds closer to the SAS weight.

Also since my last post I upgraded my winch from the 10,000lb(Smittybilt XRC10) to 12,000lb (Smittybilt XRC12). And I have put the 12,000 to the test. A severely hard test where I needed every bit of that 12,000lb rating, and she still runs very strong.

 

I'm in the process of building a winch bumper to hold my M12000 winch. Unfortunately, I never seem to have any spare time, so it's going to be at least a couple of weeks until it's finished. I'll be sure to post pictures.
