well now that the threads are almost showing on my tires i suppose it's time to buy new tires... i am wondering what size the 2wd guys are using? i am looking at buying a set of 16" durango wheels but idk what size tire to put on them so they hopefully dont rub too bad... any suggestions?

It all depends on your plans. Are you looking to keep it stock size? Are you looking to go as big as you can? What is your stock size now?

215/75-15 i believe... and i dont see any reason to lift a 2wd truck to make more clearance i just want it to carry my dirt bike to the trail... i thought about putting a larger tire size on but they kinda rub already when turned to a lock so i dont wanna cause more problems but i do like the look of the 16's...

You can put the same size tire on a 16 inch rim. Thats not gonna make any difference at all. Unless the backspacing is different and then it may.

a 215/75-16 is going to be larger than a 215/75-15 tho... and this wheel sticks out further and is wider... i just hate having to hope it works lol i did the same thing with my audi a few years ago and got lucky...

You could go with a 215/70-16 or 225/65-16. Those two sizes would be less than a 3/8 inch difference in diameter from stock. The 225 would give you a .4 inches wider tire, and with the different offset it shouldn't rub.

Bad96_3.9 is running 255/45-17s on the 17" r/t wheels, which would be a 1.5 inch wider tire than the 215.

Your stock 15's are 6" wide, where as the 16's are 8" wide. I wouldn't put anything narrower than a 235 or 245 on there.

can you run a 30x9.5r15 on the stock 15x6" rims?

stock suspension 4x4 3.9L 95 Dakota?

Looking to put THESE on the truck before winter. According to THIS link, it says I should be able to no problem

You should be fine with those. General rule is you dont want to run anything more than 4" wider than your rim. So youd be ok, and you should be fine size wise. You might have a little bit of rub at full lock.
