Default Some performance mods. Need some help.

Ive got a 1996 dodge dakota 5.2l 5speed. I was wondering if anybodys knows where some cheap prices on a mild cam and lifter kit. Intake manifold and new throttle body? Any idea how much gain I would benefit from these. I would like to keep the power bound round about 1000+- and 5000+- rpms. As this will be mostly a street truck. Also any ideas on cam specifications for this.

Thanks

We have a good list of performance mods you can do in the FAQ2. As where to buy you can go to www.summitracing.com Check on some prices.

My mods are in my sig.. My truck straight up hauls compared to stock. A lot of poeple say the M1 intake manifold takes away low end torque and while there was maybe a slight drop, it pulls so much harder from 3K on and when I installed the Mopar PCM I have way more low end than when I had the stock manifold. The 1.7 RRs also help a lot.

Lol, unfortunately there are no cheap cams for these engines. They are hydraulic roller lifters, which means billet contact surface, which means big $$$.

You're also not going to notice any gains from an intake manifold or throttle body intake unless you compliment them with headers. The factory intake manifold is capable of sucking in a lot more air than the factory exhaust manifold can let back out. Remember this... you can't stuff more air in until you can get it back out too!

Summit is a great resource but you may want to search by the engine and not just the Dakota. Seems like a lot of stuff gets left out for the Dak on there. Be sure you select the magnum family for the motor and NOT LA.
