Question CEL trouble codes?

Hello all, I'm new to this site. So the check engine light is on. I turned the switch on 3 times and got code 12 and 15. Can some here tell me what these are or know a site that has a list of the codes? Thanks in advance. '94 dakota 2wd 3.9 Mike in TN.

12 is normal. Its kinda accepted that its like the "start of codes" code.

15 means no speed sensor detected. Check the harness that plugs into your transmission on the drivers side toward the rear of the transmission.

Neither should trip the check engine light.

You could always check the FAQ in this section for a full list of codes.

+1. And its a good idea to print off the list and keep it in your truck.

Wow, sorry dude... wasn't tryin to sound rude or condescending. Crazy4x4RT just said if you want the complete list of codes (besides the 2 that skyshark gave you) there is a link in FAQs, and I just said it's a good idea while your looking at them to go ahead and print off the list for a quicker reference.

Don't take things so personally!!

Also, to add to Sksyharks list, does your cruise control still work?

I wasn't knocking you down. Just trying to give you help. So when you need to look up codes you will be able to find it without having to ask and wait hours or longer to get the answer vs when you can do a few more clicking and have the answer in a matter of seconds.

So if you need help getting to the codes, go to the 1st gen Dakota forum. Where you clicked on this thread, and has all the other threads listed. Just look a few above this one and look to the left hand side of the page. There will be a green arrow pointing at the FAQ. Click on it and on the top of the next page there is "My check engine light is on" and then gives a link. I just check the link still works.

Again I am not knocking you down. Just trying to help. Also it is for others too, odds are there are more people that need help too.

Thanks guys, I don't take things too personal. I just over looked the faq threads. I'm on a couple other forums where folks love to give noobs hell at any chance they get. Anyways the overdrive does work, don't know about cruise control. I haven't tried it in several months, I'll check it when I go out today. Thanks again. OK I misread the codes they are actully 12 & 51. Any ideas where to look first for lean fuel system? All vac lines and connectors appear to be in good condition.

Start by checking your fuel pressure. Also try resting the computer by disconnecting the battery, and see if it pops back up.
