Default Custom interior

Hello, new to the forum I just bought my first truck a couple weeks ago, which is a '88 dodge dakota. Thinking of changing the interior color to black and re-upholster the headliner and door panels.

So far all I have done was paint the plastic console parts flat black.

I need some help with materials... What paints to use for the plastic trim and what would be ideal for the dash and arm rests? And then theres the carpet sections on the door panels....

I would suggest using Duplicolor vinal paint on the plastic trim. It works well. Also, before you paint them, clean them with car wash soap/water and a scotch-brite pad to scuff them up.

Looks good! I would sugest get a new radio. One with a CD player so you don't need to use the tape cord. Walmart is like $30.

You can buy them from advance auto for around 40 bucks. You can also get a powder coated one thats the same as that one.

Is it legal to remove an air bag equiped steering wheel and replace it with one that is not? Sounds like a poor trade off for something that looks cooler... Maybe 619's didnt come with bags, but I would definately think about that before I bought one.

Yeah, it came with the truck but I would have swapped it with a similar one anyway... The one in my truck is pretty worn at the seems, so eventually I'm going to replace it. go to Grantproducts.com , just make sure you get a 5 hole

They arent hard to pull. You need a 9 dollar puller, which is scary I know. You also need to make sure your bolts match, but they are relatively universal.

I like the black interior panels, I just painted mine that way too.
