No Im sure that they arent all following the program the way its written.
According to the bill(which Ive read several times) the body is allowed to be kept for one week before smashing, or "until the processing facility has ample time to destroy it".
So yes....Im sure some yards are just "way to backed up" to get to smashing them right away. But out here they wont let you lay a finger on anything thats been in the program. But our junk yards suck *** anyway.

Here is a copy of the official rules. Pg.51 go to the link I provided earlier.
During the six-month period prior to the required crushing or shredding of
the trade-in vehicle, the disposal facility may sell any parts of the vehicle other than the

It depends on the your State of residence. Here in Idaho there is no law for vehicle emissions, so all of my emissions control systems are removed including EGR Valves, catalytic converters, and even mufflers.
