ABS and Brake Dashboard lights stay on
I know this has been covered a thousand times, but I have been researching and I can't get anywhere with this problem. I Replaced the RWAL speed sensor on the diff with a used one, and reset the light. When I go on the freeway it comes on(high speed triggers it?), but not if I stay on the streets. When the light does come on, it stays on unless i reset it again by disconnecting the battery. When I took out the original RWAL sensor it was chipped on the end, so it must have been bad but the lights on the dash always come back on the freeway. I've looked at all the wiring and fuses, nothing obviously wrong with them so Im stuck on what to do next to fix this. Im guessing either the used sensor I got was bad, or there is something else about the truck I just dont know about ( is it possible to align the sensor wrong even though there is only one bolt hole?) which is why I'm asking you guys. Any ideas and experience related to this would be greatly appreciated. thanks - Mike
Its a 95 Dakota with no abs, manual transmission.
Update: I tested the Rwal computer and got code 6, which says I got an erratic speed sensor signal, going to try to change the sensor for a new one this time.
