For the new guys, or maybe some old
Sears is having a sale on craftsman stuff over the weekend. Some really good stuff for pretty cheap actually.
Anyone just starting out or wanting some decent tools, they have a 260 piece set on sale for 179.99. Thats what I just got to replace my stolen ones.
Theyve got some decent air tools and large toolboxes on sale as well.
7 more days till Ive got a dana 80 and dana 60 front. The sas thread will begin.

The $8600 set I want (well, it's 10 parts, and I already have 2 of them), is down to $6400.
Unfortunately, I will only be in country for another week or so before traveling abroad, so I literally can't wait for them to come in. Plus, gives me that much more to look forward to when I get back and can actually afford it all out-of-pocket!
I've got the 300 piece set ( http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00933300000P? ) which is a great starter kit! (Doesn't come with a case though... it does have flare nut wrenches that are great for power steering and brake lines)
I also have the ratcheting wrench set ( http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00935183000P? ) which is also a God-send. You will find those areas that are just nearly impossible to fit a regular ratchet, and a wrench just doesn't do the job.

Craftsman's are great! Right out of high school I got a small scholarship for $700 for school supplies. I was going into the automotive program. Guess where I spent all of it? Sears! $700 worth of tools at once. I had 2 shopping baskets full and several items on order for me. It was funny, they had security watching me close because they thought I was going to make a run for it with all of those. I probably lost several pieces already.

I wish I had the $8K, or $6400, to drop all at once. I'd be one happy SOB walking out of the Sears store.
As is stands, collecting the rest of the set will take another year or so. My recent promotion at work has helped!

Lol, once you get all those tools, you'll need to buy set 11... motivation to work :P
(you know you won't hear the end of it until that truck is running right?)
So where are you headed in a week or so?

Iraq. For the 4th time.
Amazingly, after 4 months of slightly more pay, and no bills, I have a lot more money in the bank!? (I spend it all though, it's my job to help support the economy)
Last trip (got back from last October) it was a rebuilt transfer case for the truck, 60 gallon air compressor, and riding lawn mower.
Trip 2 was transmission and new gaming computer (which, I haven't really used for gaming), and paying off credit cards.
Trip 1 was pay off credit cards, and pay off the truck. And a TV.
I see a trend here (debt and stuff to go on, or work on, the truck)
