Just to make sure

If its a ram 1500 5.2 or 5.9, it should have the nv3500... just make sure its not the 4500. The 4500 will work, but its a lot more work to make it fit in the transmisison tunnel. I wrote up a thread about the 46rh to nv3500 swap last march, read through it if you haven't already. I say go for it though!!! I love my truck as a straight drive.
But here is the quick version:
You'll need the transmission AND transfer case... your transfer case will not work, input shafts are different
You'll need the clutch and brake pedal and hydraulic assembly from a manual 1st gen dakota... direct bolt in.
You'll need the hydraulics... Do NOT take the hydraulic system apart, it is a sealed assembly and not designed to be bled.
You'll need a flywheel (a flywheel off a 5.9 will NOT work on your 5.2), clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and very important... pilot bearing sleeve/bushing (no clutch kit will come with this).
You'll have to find or get a driveshaft custom made for the front and rear, cause the transmissions are 7 inches apart in length.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something here, so just read this thread to double check everything:

sounds like a bit of work so if it is a 318 everything will just swap over except for the pedals im guessing? ya i actually just finished reading throw your thread on it.lol. a little work but not to bad.um if the transmission is already bolted to a 318 will i still need this fun stuff? clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and very important... pilot bearing sleeve/bushing (no clutch kit will come with this).

IMO, you should replace the clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bearing. There is no reason to put an old one in that is in unknown condition. If you're going to go through all the effort, make sure it will last the next 100,000+ miles before you have to pull it out again. Also, replace the input shaft seal, output shaft seal, and make sure the put RTV gasket maker on the shifter tower.
My transmission has been leaking ever since I did the swap, and I finally pulled the transmission back out and fixed it while I was doing the transfer case swap. Don't repeat my mistakes! Replace all those seals.

You can get a clutch kit from advance auto that has a clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and clutch alignment tool for like 115 bucks. Its no performance clutch, but neither is the price. Pilot is around 20 if I remember right.
If I could find a freekin flywheel and bellhousing I could get something done.
