Default T-case slip joint

So I pulled my drive shaft to change the U-joint at the transfer case, when I pulled the shaft I got a fair amount of fluid running out. Never having pulled it out before is this normal? Only reason I ask is because it's above the fill plug so I was wondering if it was over filled or whether I've got a leaking seal. I haven't checked the fluid yet because I can't find my big frackin socket to pull the plug.

Yes, its normal. The slip yoke requires fluid to lubricate the splines and outer bushing.

Thanks, that's kind of what I figured but I thought I'd double check.
