Default 93 Broke Shock bracket/TAB

Vehicle- 93 dodge dakota sport 4x4 V6 auto.

As I was changing one of my left front shocks the lower bolt broke inside the shock tab or lower control arm screw in tab. So looking at the nut I saw that it was so jammed in the threads that my easy out and carbide drill bits couldn't get it out, so then I tried using my acetylene torch and that made things worse so now I have no way of reconnecting my left front shock to the lower control arm. I'm thinking of buying a shock tab or dual shock kit from a website and weld it to the lower control arm.

Another option is replacing the whole lower control arm but that would require switching over my ball joints to the new arm and other things.

problem--- broken left lower control arm shock tab

Any ideas???

Thanks

You can try drilling it out and run a slightly larger tap in the hole. Or go to a welding shop and have them weld on a bolt to mount the shock on.

i have drilled a "through hole" and just used a Grade 8 nut and bolt, works fine for me.
