Default Need Big help

Ok.. so, long story short. I need a computer and wiring harness for My 1995 Dodge dakota. I did an engine swap from a 92 dakota. I need the new computer and harness for this to work right... Im missing alot of things, I apparently cant hook up kick down cable because of this.. no speedometer, and just other things. I heard some of you guys getting performance computers.. where would I get this? since I already need one. And where can I get the wiring harness. I need one from a 1995 dakota V8 Im guessing?.. lots of help would be greatly appreciated

The TV cable does not have anything to do with speedo. Unfortunately there is no aftermarket wiring kit. Junkyard or www.ebay.com or www.craigslist.org is your best bet.

For the wiring harness, check any junkyard near you. Even a Ram wiring harness might work if all you need is the engine harness. For the computer, PM me and I'll help you out with that

But one is electronic and one is cable. There is no hookup on my wiring harness to hook to my transfer case. And the cable is no longer any good on the other transfer case. I kept my transfer case in.

Your original transfer case should not have a cable speedometer, it should have an electronic speedometer. You new one, if it came out of a '92, will have a cable speedometer, but your original sensor should fit in the hole if you used the new one.

There is no kickdown cable on these trucks. There is a kickdown BAND, but that is enclosed within the transmission. There are only two parts of these transmissions that are controlled by the computer... the lockup solenoid and the overdrive unit. The TV (throttle valve) cable has more jobs than just kicking the transmission into a lower gear, but again, its not controlled by the computer.

well let me explain this again. I used motor and tranny from the 92 V8, my truck is a 95 3.9, I kept my transfer case In my truck though. So mine is still electronic, but there is no wire from the harness to plug in to recognize this. .. make any more sense? And I cant take the sensor from the 92 transfer case as its no good anymore.

The cable on the speed sensor is the cable for the speedometer. Not the TV (Kickdown cable)

All you need to do is switch out the speedo housing. One simple bolt.

The TV cable is located just above the transmission oil pan. Right next to the shift linkage.

It doesn't make sense! If you still have your factory transfer case, than your factory wiring harness should still plug into it! You didn't use a '92 wiring harness, did you?
