Default bent...uh?...WTF

hey

i got a 96 dakota 4x4, 318, 4 spd, chry 8.25/3.55 gears

ANYWAY

my RIGHT REAR tire is wobbeling...

i cannot feel ANY vibration.

here is what i have troubleshooted so far

BRAND NEW TIRES!!!!!! so its not cord seperation
rotated tires, still does it ----> not a bent rim
pulled tire -----> still does it (on jackstands, visable at the brake drum)
removed brake drum ----> Still does it
CHANGED AXLE (.060 runout on old, <0.002 runout on new) ----> STILL ****ING DOES IT
checked wheel bearing -----> STILL DOES IT

anyone have any clue what else it could be?

Did you get the tires ballanced?

You say you changed the axle. Did you change the drum? Could be a badly warped drum. Is it visible at the axle with the drum off?

The simplest thing I can think of is the wheel stud threads being buggered up so the lug nuts aren't actually tightening up the wheel just on the studs. Thats my thought.

It WAS visable with the drum off.

and the rim is good. the holes are not oblonged, aswell is the threads on the lug studs

Check out the 95 service manual we have in the FAQ. Go to section 22. It give a complete diagnostic of vibrations. A nice chart on speed of vibrations.
