Once the tranny is ready to be pulled it takes less that 5 minutes to get it out. Its a pain is the a$$ but easy. I took my time but it can be done in a weekends time. Took me about 18 hours over 4-5 days to pull it out and 6 hours in one day to put it all back together.

Theres 9 bolts that hole the bell housing to the block 4 on the bottum that bolt from the motor side to the the tranny and the other 5 are on top that bolt from the tranny to the motor. When you lower the tranny/motor to get at the top bolts keep an eye on the top side of the motor between the motor and the firewall so you dont crush/break anything. Once tranny is out you dont really need a jack under the motor because the motor mounts should hold it but i dont recommend leaving it that way. I would support some of the weight with a jack.

Your almost there. another hour or 2 and you could have your tranny out.

Yup over all the years the heating up and cooling down do basically weld it all together. What I had to do to get my exhaust apart was tie half to a tree and drive. You may be able to do it with a come-along.

But when I removed my tranny I didn't need to remove the exhaust. Just move the tranny around the exhaust.

Lol, Crazy, in my experience that can only be done if you have a body lift!! There isn't room in the transmission tunnel to get the transmission around the y pipe without one.

They shouldnt be that tight. I did all mine with a 3/8 ratchet. Theres one hidden behind the oil filter. You have to take the filter off to get to it. Another on the drivers side top holds on the fuel lines coming up the back of the motor, careful with those as well.

Because the starter is bolted to the transmission's bellhousing and should be in the way of removing the dust sheild!
