Default IAC on 87 carb model?

Do I have an IAC or MAP sensor on this model truck? 1987 Dakota 4x4 3.9l 2bb carb. I can't find it on my truck and the book only seems to show it under fuel injected vehicles. I'm having problems with surging and idle

I'm not to familiar with the older years. The 87 is carbed. So I doubt it does. But you can check the FAQ in this section for some online service manuals. Or just go to www.autozone.com or www.napaonline.com or any online parts stores and see if they list it for your truck.

No the 87s do not have an IAC but do kinda have a MAP its the gray can on the computer but you cant change it without changing the whole computer... but thats probably not your problem, maybe a vacuum leak? check under that hood see if you have a hissing sound coming from somewhere.
