Stalling
1992 dakota,5.2.auto
this all happened with in week
first thing that happened was my transmission started reving high maybe 50kilometers before it would switch gears, checked trans fluid turned black,..
the next day the truck started stalling in reverse if it was on flat ground
the next day started stalling right out of gear, whether i put it drive or reverse, this is not just once in a while it is ever time.If i hold my foot on brake and push allot of gas and switch gear it will stay going and move.
so first thing i did was change gas filter,NO LUCK
next was put ground wire from engine to motor,no luck.
Did a bunch more readiing and video watching, took out iac and cleaned it,put it back in still no luck,
with more reading somewhere i read maybe the crankshaft sensor.i found a video on how to test it but can't locate it under my hood?
I am not mechacle inclined on my own but if i watch videos and talk to people i get the job done..
so if anybody can lead me to the crankshaft sensor would be great and if you have any other info i can use please let me have it.
Thanks James

Sounds like your torque converter may be fried. Sorry bud. Or perhaps the clutch packs in your gears themselves. Change your tranny oil and see whats in the pan.
The crankshaft sensor is on the passenger side of the motor towards the top. Maybe 5 inches from the distributor between the rear of the motor and the bellhousing.
