Not sure what bolts you are talking about, but the t-case is on the back of your transmission. Maybe the bolts right by the CV joint? If so then yes, it will spin. But ultimately you probably don't need to take those off if they are the 4 I am thinking you are referring to.

I was able to pull the axle out of the way and wire it back enough to get my ball joint press in there to press the old ball joint out. Just did it yesterday so it is fresh in my mind. If you gave the press you should be able to rig it up to press the old one out and press the new one back in.

I couldn't get the axle to push back through the knuckle enough to get it out.

The piece I am talking about attaches to the differential flange and is at the other end of the axle from what I think you are talking about. Looks like there is about 6 to 8 bolts attaching the flanges together. Then when that is taken off, I believe the fluid will spill out and the axle should come out completely.

If I had the truck in 4 wheel high or low, then I probably could get the bolts off. There on there pretty damn good but at least the flange wouldn't spin when I tried to loosen the bolts. Can I put the truck into high or low and spin the axle till it locks in? Is it possible?

I made the ball joint press and it only presses in, might be able to make it press them out too... just need a bigger tube attached to the press to have the ball joint to slide into.

Don't worry there will be no fluid. The CV axle holds it's grease within the boots. The axle holds the oil within the axle assembly.

This is the flange that I am guessing I have to take off to get the axle out? If that is the one I am supposed to take off then there is no fluid to come out?

nope, no fluid,

the fluid is on the other side of that flange, it unbolts to another flang, which is your inner axle, that axle seals the fluid.

No there is no fluid. The plate that the cv axle bolts to (the flange as you called it) is sealed from the axle houing.

and one more thing, how do I get those bolts out and stop that flange/axle from spinning?
I think if I can get past this part I have it beat.

If you remove those 6 bolts, the cv axle will come free.

So can I hop into the truck and put it into low with out running the truck or moving it? Starting and or moving it is kinda not a option.
