2002 4.7 NV3500 on a 5.2?
I think the bolt patterns are the same. Should work. THe only reason I say this is because I researched putting my NV4500 onto my 2001 QC with the 4.7. If you give me until Thursday night I can check, I have an NV3500 and a 45RFE sitting in my garage right now.
From what I read on the 2nd Gen. Dakota sub forum is that the bell housing bolt pattern is different.
And we do got a post on how to do an auto to a manual swap, with tons of pics. But feel free to do one. The more the better. Here it is, it is located in the FAQ2 in this section. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...-5-2l-4x4.html

How about a Ram transmission? I think they have the shifter in the tailshaft but is it movable or adaptable?

The bolt patterns are different. I checked last night. A lot more bolts on the NV3500. And now that I think about it I should have known this right away, it is because the 4.7L uses a structural plate at the bottom of the trans/engine joining, which adds a lot of rigidity to the unit and must let them get away with fewer bolts on the top.
