96 Dak Code 43 "Primary peak Circuit......."
Hey,
I have a 1996 Dak with the 3.9L engine that I have finally got running again after it caught fire 2 years ago from a injector o-ring leaking. The check engine light came on and gave me a code 43 which is "Peak Primary Circuit Current not Achieved with Maximum Dwell" Is that a really fun way of saying the engine is misfiring or is it something different? I can definitly tell it has a misfire somewhere as the engine lopes at idle . Have yet to start pulling spark pugs in order to see which one.

The list we got is that code 43 Multiple/ single cylinder misfire. So it is possible you have bad wires for the injectors, or you crank sensor or the distributer cap or wires are incorrect. Tons of possibilities especially after a fire.
Hey,
Thanks for the response. I have confirmed the the #5 cylinder is the only cylinder not firing. It does have spark. I tried to measure resistance across the injector pins to see if was the injector itself but it seems my multimeter has decided to stop working. The wires look good going into the connector but the connector is slightly deformed on one side due to the heat. I will try replacing the connector. Is that something I can pick up at a autoparts store or do I have to directly to dodge for that? Thanks!

I doubt you will be able to get it from any auto parts store. Dealer or junkyard is going to be your best bet. It should be the universal connector. So a GM or Ford will work. Just verify it looks the same.
