Here is what i found. I traced the wire back from the smaller terminal on the starter solenoid. Found that it runs to a plug near the battery. From the plug it runs into the pdc. I opened the plug up and checked for continuity from the starter solenoid to the plug and it was there. there are 2 wires going into the plug. one from the starter solenoid and one from the positive side of the battery. That 90% or the circuit checks good. Now from the other half of the plug that runs to the terminal block for the starter relay. The wire the runs from the batter has continuity but the one that runs to the starter solinoid doesnt. I was going to run a new wire for it but the wire color is different. Its black inside the termianl block and brown at the plug. Does anyone know if it runs through a fusable link?

It could be the splice problem. This is copy and paste from the FAQ.
Truck will not start- A common problem in the trucks, primarily ones made between 1993 Through 1995, was failure (corrosion) of the splice that feeds battery power to the automatic shutdown (ASD) and fuel pump relays. If these relays do not get battery power, your truck will not be able to start. This could also cause intermittent problems, or could possibly "kill" the truck when driving down the road. The splice is located underneath the Power Distribution Center (PDC), which is the black box located behind the battery. To Troubleshoot
Here is the starter wiring diagram. Very simple. It is also located in the FAQ in the service manual.

Thank you for the wiring diagram. I have not checked the ASD or the fuel pump relays. Am i wrong in thinking that from terminal 1d of the starter relay to c121 there should be continuity when i ring out the wire from the PDC to the connector? Because there isnt.

i checked the automatic shutdown (ASD) and fuel pump relay terminals for the proper voltages and they are there. I jumpered from terminal 1c on the pdc block to the connector c121 shown on the diagram and when i turned the key it started. So i think the best course of action is to change the wire. What do you guys think?

So i found out after doing a bunch of wire testing that all the wires shown in the diagram are good. even though i originally thought it there was a broken wire. So as a last ditch effort before taking to a shop, I bought a new ignition switch. I was going to replace it but the paperwork said to disable the airbag before doing it. How do you temporarily diable the airbag system? I really do appreciate all the help and patience you have given while helping me with this problem.
