The bypass hose goes from the top of the water pump to the front side of the intake manifold. Brackets are in the way. So depending what you have off you may not be able to see it all. It is a small and short hose.

I am assuming that I need to put some thread tape or something on the threaded fitting that goes in the top of the water pump right? Apparently some modles must just come without that bypass and they just plug it.

Thanks again!!

I would use Teflon tape on that fitting definitely.

Do yourself a favor, when you put that fan back on, goop some never seize on the thread so the next time (and there will be a next time) you need to take it off, it won't be so difficult.

I decided to just quit fighting the bypass hose and just took the AC Pump and Alt off the bracket and just took the bracket out. Took 10 minutes tops and I am not taking any chances on that bypass hose leaking when I get this all back together.

Plus it gives me great access to ensure that I have the gasket and all that stuff in perfect place when we go back together!!

Thanks to everyone for all of your help on this!!

Oh, lol. Yeah, we could have and should have told you that! Taking that bracket off is easy and quick and gives you full access to the whole front of the engine. But I'm glad you figured it out!

Do any of the water pump bolts go into any of the water jackets? I noticed when I pulled one on the passenger side out some anti-freeze came out with it. Should I be putting any type of sealent on these bolts before putting them in?

Are there any torque specs on the water pump bolts? Or I guess on the bracket bolts for that matter also?

Thanks Again Everyone!!

30ft-lbs for the bolts, I put some RTV on the longer bolts don't know whether it's necessary but I figured better safe than sorry.
