Default Wiring Problems??? Wire short?

When I was at Emortal, we ripped out my whole dash to do my stereo and everything we found where the headlight pullout button is, the whole plastic piece and all the plastic was melted. So I swapped it out with one from the junkyard. Its been working fine since then.

After about a month, my heater wasnt working so I just made my own manual switch to the key on position, and eversince I did that now my horn doesnt work, a buddy at the old shop did the heater switch so Im not exactly sure what he did but thats what he told me , ill have to pull out my dash and see for myself what hes got going on in there.

So today I was driving then my boyfriend told me to stop at this guys garage just to ask him a question, so when I stopped my blinkers werent working and my stereo deck jsut turned off and there was nothing, also my smoke lighter, then all the sudden it just all turned back on liek 2 minutes later.

I dont know if this really gives you guys an idea of what my problems are, but I just want to do the simplest things first to see what the possible cause might be. I mean it might be something so simple thats incredibly easy to fix.

I dont know wiring all that well, although thats what I want to learn most while working at my new shop, but for no I hardly know anything...My bf said it could be the relay or have a I forget what he said ...something fuse that you can turn on and off or something from when me n my boss put in my stereo, but I cant really tell you too much about what he said cause I cant remember. Ill ask him again hes just not home right now. But hopefully someone knows what the wiring could be. Also my windshield shooters..lol...sometimes work and sometimes dont. So Im pretty sure there is a short somewhere, and I havent got my truck in the garage but Ill check all the fuses. Its obviously not that though otherwise my lgihts and the wipers would always work, so any suggestions...Please!!!
Thanks!!

Defiantly a wire problem. Tons of possibilities. First check the battery terminals. Next check the fuses. See what is blown, if any. Then follow that circuit and see what you find. Unfortunately it is going to take time. Good luck!

could be a voltage regulation problem from the computer. too much voltage going to your systems and blowing them. check your fuses to see if they are blown.

Default Check ignition switch in column

My 93 had similar symptoms, the "run" position of the ignition switch is VERY picky...sometimes everything will just stop working (truck still running) after wiggling the key a bit (sometimes a reboot [restart] is required) and everything will function normally again. My switch has a bad contact (probable arcing causing no go) I just haven't had time to tear into it yet. Good luck!!
