Default 93 Dakota automatic transmission question

Hi guys- I was wondering if yall can help me. I have a 3.9 motor and auto trans that i pulled out of a 93 dakota a couple years ago. I cant remember if the truck had overdrive or not, and i need to know. Is there any way to tell by looking, or did all the 93 dakotas with automatics have overdrive? Thanks for your help!

Welcome to DodgeForum!

All '93 auto transmissions in these trucks have overdrive. If it is behind the 3.9L, it is a 42rh (a500) automatic transmission, which is basically a hydraulically controlled torquflite 998 (904 in a 727 case) with a seperate electrically controlled, hydraulically operated overdrive unit on the tail.
