Default WTF...no spark again...91 Dakota, 318

For those that may remember, I had this issue before. Its a 91 Dakota, 4x4 318, auto. I lost spark a couple months ago...fixed a faulty factory splice and away I went.
Well the sucker quit on me again a few days ago...no spark. Towed it home. Opened up the wiring harness from the PDC to the ECU...no bad splices. Changed the Hall Effect pick-up ( in the distributor...also called a cam sensor )...tried three different coils...nothing. Double checked every ground I could find. Oh...and no fault codes in memory.
So, this morning before I start round three...just for the hell of it, I reach in the truck and turn the key...well...it starts and runs...for about a minute and then quits again...WTF. No spark again.
I'm thinking this truck is pure evil and its trying to turn me into a crack addict. Oh...did I mention how much I detest electrical issues!!
Ok...million dollar question. Does this truck have a crank position sensor ( read conflicting info on this year of truck ). If it does...where do I locate it, because I can't find it where the manual says it "might" be ( back side of passenger head on the bell housing ) I understand that if these crap out...you loose spark.
I'm thinking that it may be the ECU, but I can't find a used one. It has to be for a 91 with a 318...its kinda like looking for a chicken with teeth.
I'd hate like hell to buy a new one...around $250, and find that I still have an intermitent spark issue.
Help

P.S. I quit smoking a month ago...nerves are pretty much fried...this truck is really testing my patience...there might be a mushroom cloud behind the garage involving a 91 Dakota...soon

I'm not to familiar with the early years. But it still sounds like a wiring issue. As for the crank sensor. Try calling a few auto parts stores. Or try online. www.autozone.com www.napaonline.com http://shop.advanceautoparts.com

he he . just wait i'm still laughing over the crack addict comment. the 91 does not have a crank position sensor, but the timing is adjustable, you might want to check it.
yah electrical issues are a bi--h.
