Default Removing my swaybar

I've been thinking about removing my swaybar. I have a friend that hass alot of off road experience and said he would take it off...

Is it ok to do so? What would the cons vs. pros be? I'm an inexperienced driver so I don't know if it would increase the risks of me losing control or something.

It is okay. 95 318SLT removed his. He said it helped with articulation. And gave him a slight lift due to it not restricting it. You will get slight body roll. He said it not to much.

For me it would not be worth it. Especially I feel like I get plenty of flex. And tons of articulation.

Like Crazy said, I removed mine. The body roll is definately noticeable, but its not unnerving. I still feel comfortable taking high speed turns (well high speed by a trucks standards =P). Removing it makes the front suspension truely independant and also like Crazy said, helps with articulation.

My suggestion though is that you crank the torsion bars up tight. I have a feeling that if the bars aren't as tight, the body roll would be terrible, but the high spring rate helps keep the body roll in control.

OK, well... I have noticed body roll doing sharp or high speed turns and it scared my dad a few times lol.... But I guess I can try it out and see how it works out. I appreciate the info.

one more quick question by tightening the torsion bars does that increase the stress on the ball joints?

Yes it does by changing the where factory wants the the controls arms to be at. But not terrible stress. Just if you haven't already replace them. Any ball joints this old can be bad, even on non-modified vechicle.

The biggest thing it stresses is the cv axle! Mine is very stressed out, but I haven't replaced it and its still quiet, so I don't expect it to fail anytime before my SAS.
