Default 93 Transmission Shifting Problem

Truck Details:
93 Dodge Dakota,, 5.2 V8, Automatic Trans, 4x4
I have a 93 dodge dakota that a friend gave me. It was not in running condition and had been sitting for years. I determined it wasnt getting fuel pressure and was able to find a corroded spot in the wires under the hood and fix that problem. Now the truck runs good but has transmission issues. When taking off the truck will rev to almost 4000 rpms before shifting. The shift is smooth, it just revs way too high before doing it. It does the same thing before shifting to the next gear. Also when going downhill when the transmission should shift to a higher gear due to decreased load, it stays in a lower gear unless u rev it up to almost 4000 and then it shifts. As i said the transmission shifts fine, no slipping, or really hard shifts. THe truck was sitting for a few years without being ran. Im hoping this is some kind of simple problem so hopefully u guys can help me out. Also my friend told me this is the trucks 3rd transmission so possibly an improper install? he claims it shifted fine before being parked though.

Sounds like a miss adjusted TV cable. Check out the FAQ in this section for a good write up and adjustment details.
