Default strong coolant smell

93 5.2 L

Is it posible for a faulty EGR Valve to pressurise the cooling system, I replaced my radiator because , It was leaking at the expanstion joint At the upper tank .Now it's been a week and I have the same issue again . Or pehaps a good old head gasket problem ? Although it does'nt get hot and I did notice the heater does not get hot with out haveing to rev up the engine a little. If your guys have any thoughts on this , please let me know . I'M new to the world of dodge trucks.

If you want a quick check on the head gaskets, with the engine cold, take the radiator cap off, and start the engine and rev it up and if the coolant comes spewing out of the radiator, its a very good chance the head gasket is blown. If it does that, do a leakdown test on it! Typically you get overheating problems with a blown head gasket though, and you said it runs cold.

The EGR valve cannot cause cooling system problems though. They aren't linked in any way.

Thanks , Did notice coolant pumping out of radiator filler neck , When I changed radiator. Don't seem to be drinking the coolant just pumping it out of the exapanstion joint . I supose I will have to disable each cylinder to find which bank it is?
