Unhappy 95 dak 3.9 2wd

whats the big secret to getting at and removing the top motor mount bolt.there is a spoon type piece in the way,i can get my finger on it,but i cant get a wrench or a socket anywhere close.btw,this is on the drivers side,any ideas?thanks

The mount probably is bent up. Just try to use pry bars or anything that will help. It happened to me too! If you have to brake that tab.

A picture might help! I can't picture in my head what you're talking about. I have a '95 2wd 3.9L in the garage that currently looks like this:

... and I don't remember anything being in my way of taking the bolt out of the motor mount.

Have you tried getting under the truck and attacking it from the bottom if you can't get it from the side or top?

Or even better yet, have you removed the inner fender wells to get to it. Removing them gives you room to get to anything around the motor!

Here is a quick pic. The arrow is pointing to the bolt he is talking about. The tab on the side can get in the way. Not to mention the rubber if it is all deformed.

Oh, ok. I thought he was talking about the bolt that actually holds the motor in, not the mount to the frame. That makes more sense now! I haven't taken those off the frame yet!

That bolt goes to the motor. The shaft that goes across is the bolt that goes to the frame.

crazy,thats it.i see how it should be now.it appears a socket should be able to get under that tab thing.thanks for the pic
