Changing Thermostat - RTV Sealant
I don't know about your truck Felipe, but on mine the alternator is in the way, not the AC compressor! The alternator is very easy to get off, remove the belt and then 2 bolts and set it aside (you don't have to unbolt all the wires). Taking that off frees up a lot of space!
Okay, can you tell me which bolts to remove to get the alternator out of the way.
Scary to me as I've never messed my belts on any of my cars before.
To remove the belt, take a 15 mm wrench and turn the spring loaded tensioner and while holding it, pull the belt off! Then there are two very obvious bolts that hold the alternator in. Trust me, once you look at it you can't miss them. But one of them is at about the 1-2 oclock postion and the other is at the 7-8 oclock position. The second one mentioned has a nut on the backside.
Assembly is reverse. You cannot mess it up, the spring in the tensioner sets the belt tension, unlike a lot of cars where you have to manually set the tension. I can't be messed up! When you put the belt back on, turn the tensioner in with the wrench before you call it done just to help the spring out.
