Default 96 dakota instrument cluster self-test

Is it possible to do a self-test on a 96? I want to know if any are burned out.

It does a self check everytime you start it up. The gas light does not. You just have to wait till it gets low. You can check the turns and headlight and brights indicator easy.

should the generator, temperature, and washer fluid warnings self test? If so I need to buy some pc194 bulbs.
Thanks for the help.

There is no Generator, it is an Alternator. Big difference. And The light is a low battery light (I believe). They both should. Washer I don't think so. Just empty out the washer fluid and see if it comes on.

ya, the last thing I owned that had a generator was a 1959 oval window beetle, but the fsm refers to it as a generator, and the light shows gen.
I have 5 burned out indicators and napa wants $2.99 a piece but theres a company called quckshipautoparts that has wagner pc194 for .34 cents each, so I got 20 to replace them all. They're also on Amazon through the same seller for $1.19 for a pack of 10 but the shipping is $7.00 (per shipment).
Anyone have experience with them?
