I bought a HV pump from autozone for $55 and haven't had a single problem with it. Putting it in takes some time and I would suggest replacing the rear main seal at the same time.

Quoted for truth!! The oil pan is a real PITA to get out on a 4x4. IIRC, I had to remove the drag link too.

My 90 done the same thing and i put a wix oil filter on it and it helped it out alot. I used to run framTG on it and the wix is much better, but it still drops when I push the clutch in and coast. As long as the gas is pushed it is up there good.

Quote: i have a 90 dak with the 3.9 and i noticed when i decelerate my oil pressure drops then comes back up. any advice, is it a leak, bad pump, or wat?
Could be worn out main bearings. That is a very common sign. One way to tell is to have an external gauge hooked up. You would thread it in where the oil pressure switch is. Get engine warm. Rev to 3000 rpm and watch oil pressure. You should be around 30-80 psi. Let off throttle. Oil pressure should drop. If it drops and then spikes back up briefly and then back down, the main bearings are/could be worn.

Your ideal oil pressure should be 6 PSI at idle and, as stated earlier, 30-80 psi at 3000 rpm.

A worn pump will just have low pressure and not give you spikes on deceleration.
