Default Finally got it back from the dead.

I couldn't think of a good title. But I finally bought a new K&N air filter.

I was offroading about 5-6 months ago. Somehow I actually broke the S bolt that holds it on. My guess it was due to some crazy articulation angle of the truck, and maybe it hit the hood. So the air filter took a dive. The round filter fell through the engine bay and to the floor, where I ran over it. Smashed it really bad. But thank God the top filter and bottom pan were perfect. The top just had a few little dings on it.

So to get home I used rope to hold it on. Once home I put my stock air filter setup back on, till I could get another K&N 14in round filter. I usually use the stock setup for offroading anyways. I guess I forgot to install it that day.

It took me 5-6 months to order a new one. Just came in today!!

Old setup. The round filter was just a little bent up from another time the S bolt broke. And it fell. But it was okay.

Damaged filter. Trash!!

Stock setup used for TOO long of time!!

New Filter setup!! Top slightly damaged. But perfect working condition.

Cool! Can you tell a difference going back and forth? I need a new air filter and really want to go with an open design like that.

If anyone wants it. Here is the link to the kit I got at first. This will work for any Magnum engine. 3.9 V6, 5.2 or 5.9 V8

Then I bought the X-Stream top.

Also kinda long the "Back from the dead" line. I had some nice Pioner 6x9 rear speakers. Thanks to all the kids I put back there. From my brother to my nephew and cousins. They LOVE to POKE my speakers with their sticky fingers.(All kids have sticky fingers.) They were so damaged. They Sounded like junk when I turn up the volume.

So when I was out at Walmart. I saw some nice ones. 400w 6x9's. I don't use my amps anymore so these were perfect. Especially since they have what I call a "Anti Poker guard". LOL! Now this will stop those little fingers from killing anymore speakers.

Besides the 6x9's I replaced the stock 4.5 or 5in, what ever size it was for a nice 6in. And in the vent hole in the door I put in a mid, high level tweeter in each door. They were installed a few years ago.

Old speakers. Death by finger poking!!!

New Speakers!

New Speakers with Anti Poker Guard on!

you know.. if open up the hole for the stock speaker with a jig saw. You can put the 6x9 behind all that and put the plastics back on there..... thats what I did... measure first to make sure you dont have giant magnets on the back.... For some reason i'm thinking i had to build a spacer for the bottom or the top...

just an idea for ya..

Secondly... fuel mileage with the filter... notice anything?

I did cut it open to fit the speaker. I wanted the panel to be behind the speaker grill.

As for MPG it the same. But the power is much better. Now that the computer has gotten used to it, I can feel it more.

I know it has nothing to do with it but since I put on the filter, the suspension feels so much more smoother. LOL!
