ok...i'll just skip the trouble with the auto store and go straight to the dealer. now i just need to get that v8 flywheel and the yoke since the one off the auto is timed. time to adjust the parts list...lol nice truck btw i like the look...

What are you referring to when you say yoke?

Thanks!! It's about to be put under the knife for a solid front axle swap, so it will look a lot different soon!

the part of the driveshaft that comes out of the transmission and connects to the first u-joint...i don't know what the proper term for it is but someone referred to it as a yoke and thats what i call it now...

Yeah, thats a slip yoke, I'm just making sure we're on the same page.

Why do you say you need a new one? The one you have should work just fine. You will need to get a longer driveshaft though.

mine does fit but it has a little flat spot(missing tooth) i might be able to use the same driveshaft my when i measured the trannys the one i have in the there right now is an in longer than the nv3500(which surprised me a little) but because i messed my back up a few days ago i was moving around to much to get an exact measurement.

I'll probably end up replacing my driveshaft anyway cause its starting to rust

I know the 4x4 nv3500 is 7 inches shorter than the 4x4 46rh, I don't know about the 2wd version.

As for the slip yoke, could you take a picture, cause based just on what you said, thats normal. I've never seen a slip yoke that didn't have 1 spline missing.

Yeah, all normal there. Don't waste your money on a new yoke!
